Bark River Knives: Aurora

6th Apr 2014

We asked Mike Stewart what he thought of the Aurora.  This is what he said.

The Aurora is a dedicated bushcraft knife. The point is is at the center of the blade It is a finer point for drilling through wood, but it has a very slow taper allowing maximum strength on the spine for battening which is not considered abuse of the knife. The edges can easily withstand it if proper technique is used.

The aurora is a full tang construction. The handles are designed very ergonomically. They have a coke bottle shape. It is not exaggerated, but designed to give a really secure grip, but not enough to cause hot spots or blisters.

Bushcraft knives are designed for sustained use for carving wood, making notches, or building shelter. This is a large bush crafter. This is about the maximum size you want for a bush crafter.

Made in about 85 handle color variations.
