Bark River Knives: City Knife
17th Apr 2014
We asked Bark River Knife and Tool owner, Mike Stewart about the Loveless City Knife. This is what he said.
The City Knife was designed originally by Bob Loveless in the late 1980’s. It is not thought to have gone into production by Bob or his factory. Bob showed the design to Mike and asked what he thought of it. At the time, EDC (every day carry) knives were not a big deal. Mike showed the design to Derrick at Knives Ship Free who said he would like to put the knife into production. That was done. The knife is now made in CPM154 stainless steel. The edge is very, very sharp.
The knife is sold with KSF pocket sheath which is how Mike carries his City Knife.
The knife is full tang construction. The bolster is put on with corby bolts so it cannot ever come loose. A finger groove was added to Bob’s design for additional security in the hand. The indent provides a secure three finger hold for someone with large hands and a four finger hold for somebody with smaller hands.
The false grind thins the tip nicely for fine work. The knife becomes a very handy EDC that becomes a fixed blade pocket knife.
