Canal Street Cannitler

9th May 2014

If you're anything like us, you cringe when you hear the word "hybrid." Merging two or more perfectly good concepts into a new product rarely works well.

Canal Street Cutlery

Canal Street's three-blade "Cannitler" is a welcome exception to the rule, combining the classic "canoe" and "whittler" slipjoint patterns into a very useful pocketknife.

At first glance the Cannitler looks like a canoe, but its array includes a spear, a pen and a coping blade (like a whittler). The blades are of durable D2 steel, operating on two backsprings. The main blade, the swedged spear, makes use of both springs -- a clever setup which helps keep the knife relatively slim.

The Canal Street Cannitler is a hybrid that works. Its selection of blade shapes and sizes is perfect, covering most everyday chores, wrapped in a very robust package.

One more thing: Like all Canal Street knives, the Cannitler is drop-dead gorgeous. Whether scaled in camel bone, amber carved stag bone or amber jigged bone, the Cannitler is an EDC knife we're proud to show-off to our knife-loving friends.

And so, with those four knives we've come to the brink of the weekend. We'll be back soon to finish our trip through a week's worth of EDC goodness.
