Great Eastern Cutlery #72 Cody Scout
10th May 2014
We're going to be honest with you here -- we just can't be dispassionate about Great Eastern's two-blade Cody Scout, so we're not even going to pretend.
We love this knife. If we didn't appreciate all knives as much as we do, we'd be happy carrying this one every single day.
To start with, the #72 Cody Scout brings two blades to the EDC party -- a drop-point/skinner and a good-sized pen. They're made of easy-to-maintain 1095 carbon steel, housed in a hand-filling trapper frame and deployed by a pair of strong backsprings.
Not to put too fine a point on it (pardon the expression), but there's not much that this knife won't do. Seriously, we've yet to encounter a task outside the Cody Scout's abilities that wouldn't require at least a medium-sized fixed-blade.
So in addition to being an excellent everyday choice -- and yes, we're still talking about EDC here -- the Great Eastern #72 Cody Scout would make a great hunting companion and a perfect complement to a traditional woodcraft trio.
