FAQ: What's a 'coffin' handle?
17th Aug 2015
A "coffin" handle is a traditional style of knife handle that resembles, in its shape, a burial coffin.
Its distinctive pommel has three sides, or faces. A coffin handle tapers toward its forward end, often with a subtle contour.
Despite its simple and straightforward shape, a properly designed coffin handle can be quite comfortable in use. The design is common on Bowie-style fixed-blade knives.
