I bought a really beautiful custom slipjoint a couple years ago.  The nickel silver bolsters, the stunning buffalo horn and the scroll work made it my favorite knife.  Being a believer that a knife is a tool meant to be used, that knife went into my pocket.  A year later the scroll work was lost in the dull bolsters and the stunning buffalo horn was a dull gray—it had gone to war in my pocket and lost.  I needed a way to carry a quality pocket knife without damaging it.

With the price of a quality pocket knife soaring, you hate to get them all scratched up by the keys and screws and coins and other important things the same pocket.  The KSF PocketSlip is the answer.

I know a leather slip pouch for a pocket knife is nothing new, but I wanted to add the KSF touch to an old standby.  This is what we came up with.

KSF PocketSlip

The KSF PocketSlip is made with top quality, vegetable tanned leather.  Cheaper pouches use cheaper chrome tanned leather.  Chrome tanned leather can (read WILL) cause corrosion problems with your knives.  Vegetable tanned leather doesn’t have any of the harmful chemicals in the hide, so your knives are protected even from the sheath itself.  Vegetable tanned leather starts out stiff, but wears very well and forms perfectly to your knife.

We took what we know about sheaths and applied it to the simple, traditional slipjoint pouch—we added a welt.  The welt allows you to put a larger, thicker knife in a more diminutive sheath.  It just makes sense to make it take less space in your pocket.

Then we added some really innovative design features.

  • Arches.  Obviously they look very cool, but they serve a purpose.  The arches allow the PocketSlip to protect a larger knife while allowing you easier access to it.
  • Eyelets.  These give added strength at the highest stress points on the PocketSlip giving you years of quality use.  Thread a chain through them and you can carry your pocket knife around your neck or use paracord to tie the slip in your pack, or….well, you get the idea.
  • Debris Openings.  One of the problems of putting a pouch in your pocket is that it naturally collects dirt and other debris through normal use.  Dirt and debris is another way to say, “abrasive.”  We put openings at the bottom to allow that dirt to just fall out—away from your knife.

  • Push to Eject.  We designed the bottom of the sheath to help you get your knife out.  Just push the knife up from the bottom and grab it with your other hand.

I really believe the KSF PocketSlip is the very best way to carry your pocket knife on the market.  I think you will agree.
