The Manix 2 is a dependable, all-purpose folding knife that showcases Spyderco’s Made-in-USA quality and patented Ball Bearing Lock™. Its broad blade features a full-flat grind for an exceptional balance of edge geometry and strength. Matching areas of jimping (textured grooves) on the thumb ramp and the index-finger choil complement the handle’s refined ergonomics to offer an amazingly secure, comfortable grip.
Constructed with full stainless steel liners, a stainless steel back spacer, and textured G-10 scales, the Manix 2’s handle is home to a high-strength Ball Bearing Lock mechanism. One of our strongest, smoothest operating lock mechanisms, it consists of a hardened steel ball bearing encased in a polymer cage. When the knife is opened, a spring plunger drives the ball bearing forward onto a ramp on the blade, wedging it securely open. Pulling back on the cage releases the lock and allows the blade to pivot smoothly closed. Both opening and closing are easily performed with either hand and without ever placing your fingers near the blade’s edge.
To ensure instant access and ease of carry, the Manix 2 includes a reversible hourglass clip that supports left or right-side tip-up carry. It complements the blade’s Trademark Round Hole and lock mechanism to make every aspect of the knife’s carry, deployment, and operation completely ambidextrous.

Awesome knife
I recently received this knife and I’m blown away by this knife straight out of the box. I know sometimes dlc coated spyderco knives can be a little tight at the pivot when brand new. Not this one! It drops closed flawlessly the first time I tried it. This is a beautiful knife and everything about it is rock solid and screams of quality and a tool tough enough to last decades. I own 5 manix 2s in different steel/scales versions and this is the smoothest and the fit and finish flawless. I could not find a single scratch on this knife anywhere. I use my knives so this will change soon though. The m390 blade was sharp out of the box but after stropping 15 times on a 4 micron cbn loaded strop and then the same 15 strokes on a 1 micron leather strop, this edge now tree tops hair effortlessly. I’m really impressed with this knife. As for knives ship for free, they are awesome. I initially had been trying to use a gift card through PayPal checkout to order and accidentally paid with a different card that I didn’t want to use and it was too late for me to cancel through PayPal. I sent an email to K.S.4.F. asking them to refund the purchase so I could redo it with the gift card. This was on Saturday afternoon and, according to their business hours, they were closed until Monday. Apparently a customer service rep saw my request and actually refunded it Saturday night and I was able to immediately reorder. That type of customer service simply doesn’t exist most places anymore and I’ve learned to shop where it does. Also, my order was shipped early Monday morning and I got it on Wednesday afternoon. That is some very fast shipping for it to still be free. Excellent knife and excellent company, you can’t go wrong here!
