Jonathan McNees, a veteran US marine and avid outdoorsman, designed the Killer B folding knife by combining his years of experience with his skills as a custom knifemaker. This was the basis for the Spyderco McBee.

This compact knife features a saber-ground Wharncliffe blade crafted from CTS® XHP stainless steel with a uniquely scalloped spine that provides the user with precision cutting power that is more powerful than its size would suggest. The diminutive titanium frame lock is small enough to fit on a key chain but is more capable than most blades in this size category, making this knife a perfect addition to your everyday carry rotation.
The blade of the McBee knife is equipped with a hollow saber grind that is durable and perfect for slicing. The Round Hole in the blade supports smooth, one-handed operation, despite the knife’s compact size. The modified tip has plenty of point for providing excellent strength for piercing tasks.
The Spyderco McBee handle is finished titanium bridged with barrel spaces for a lightweight, open back construction. The scales are chamfered making for a sloping, symmetrical edge with milled holes on the front scale for added traction. Secure operation is provided by an integral frame lock while the blade pivot hardware, lock bar cutout, and lock disengagement are textured to provide a custom look and feel to the McBee. Finally, the stainless steel hourglass clip provides secure, right-hand tip-up carry backed by a lined lanyard hole for attaching lanyards and fobs.
The Spyderco McBee is not to be underestimated. The carefully thought-out design makes it easy to use, perfect for opening boxes and envelopes. The CTS-XHP steel blade retains its razor sharp edge well over time. This knife is best suited for anyone looking for an inconspicuous, every day carry knife for use in the office or home. Easy to carry with your keys or on the stainless steel pocket clip, this well made little pocket knife even fits inside the coin pocket in a pair of jeans.
Jonathan McNees design of this brilliantly compact Spyderco McBee was featured at Spyderco's 2018 Amsterdam Meet. Based on McNee's design of his popular Killer B, the McBee is under four-inches when open - small but with the same great ergonomics and ease of use offered by larger knives in the Spyderco family of knives.
