Spyderco is known for using a huge variety of modern steels across their catalogue. Now they've gone a step further and created their own proprietary steel composition via Crucible Industries. CPM SPY27 combines important alloys to create a steel with high hardness, edge retention, toughness, and stain resistance. You'll know which knife to look for thanks to the attractive Cobalt Blue FRN scales. This makes for an amazing addition to the Para 3 platform.

    Fit and Finish Not Perfect

Posted by Scott on 4th Apr 2022

This is a cool knife, and I don't plan to return it. I love the compression lock and the super easy opening. It is a totally one-handed operation. KSF is the best when it comes to shipping immediately. I've done business with them for years. The one star I subtracted for the following reasons: The color is different from the photos, and I realize that Spyderco can not make every batch of handles exactly the same color. Mine is darker than the photos and a grayish blue color. The clip is not as tight as I would like. It is okay for now, but I worry it will loosen too much with use.. The thumb hole has sharp edges that could be hard on your thumb, especially if you are a fidgety person who likes to play with your knife. Finally, there is some side-to-side play in the blade when open and locked. I'm going to tighten the screws a touch to try to eliminate it, but it is more than I expected. Overall, the fit and finish is not as good as my Japanese made Spyderco, but it is still a really cool knife, and I look forward to getting familiar with the SPY27 blade steel.

Dealer and Knife could not be better.

First off, the knife is fantastic as is apparent with just a little digging on YouTube. This was my first purchase from this merchant and I'm impressed. The knife shipped the same day it was ordered. But I like most of all is if it's on the web site, they have it... they're not drop shipping from a manufacturer or warehouse, they have it and they are shipping it. Fantastic. I'll be back.

    Para 3 Spy27

Posted by David Lee on 12th May 2021

Just received my new PM3 LW with Spy27 from KSF. Great customer service as always from KSF. The dark blue frn scales look fantastic, I think this is one of the best versions of this modern day classic. It’s combines the signature Sal G blade shape in a compact and light weight package. Put it in your pack or everyday kit, you won’t notice it’s there.
