The Bark River Trailmate is a smaller/medium sized knife that is great as an everyday carry knife. Because of the size this profile works very well as a  utility/field knife or as a hunting knife on game sized up to whitetail deer. The tall blade shape make the Trailmate an excellent slicer and you will find that chores from food prep to field dressing are easy for this model. You can really get the fell of what you are cutting with this unique blade.  The compact handle is the same size and girth as the Trailbuddy and the Mini-Fox River.  It is a perfect addition to any of the other knives in Bark River's Professional Series. For 2015 Bark River has upgraded this limited run to CPM S35VN Stainless Steel for maximum edge holding.
