Dragonfly 2
The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 is the ideal lightweight pocket knife. This little big knife has great looks thanks to the blade swedge (false edge on the spine) and overall curved shape. Every time you pick this knife up, you will enjoy using it as much as looking at it.
The blade of the Dragonfly 2 is only 2.25” long. When opened, the knife is 5.563”, and when closed it is 3.313” long. With the lightweight handle configuration of the Dragonfly 2, it is just 1.2 ounces.
The handle includes a front finger choil at the base of the sharp VG-10 blade. Even a person with large hands will be able to hold the knife safely and put it to work. Combine the blade and handle design with a back lock mechanism, and you have a knife that is way stronger and more comfortable than anything else this small.
The Dragonfly 2 has Spyderco’s classic leaf-shaped blade. Standard models feature VG-10 blade steel, perfect for an everyday carry. It holds a good edge and is extremely sharp. With its full height flat grind and perfect amount of belly, it cuts with ease right out of the box.
A major factor in weight savings on the Dragonfly 2 is the FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle covered in bi-directional texturing. The raised texturing points in different directions (top and bottom) to give the handle all the traction you need while remaining comfortable to hold. The FRN material itself is durable enough to last a lifetime and withstand constant use.
Spyderco paid a lot of attention to detail when designing the overall shape of this knife. They know that a folding knife as compact as this needs to have lots of positive grip so that the user feels totally at ease putting the knife to work. The slender handle curves nicely from one end to the other, letting the knife nestle into your palm. At the forward end where handle meets blade, there is a perfect finger choil so you have added grip and room to fit your hand.

Spyderco paired the Dragonfly 2 with their wire clip design. It’s a deep carry clip so that the knife is mostly concealed, and it adds almost nothing to the overall weight. The hardened steel gives you a reliable carry, and the handle is designed with slots on either side so you can carry right or left side in the tip-up position
The lock is simple and functional. The back lock mechanism is positioned in the middle of the handle where it can be easily reached. It provides very solid lockup for the blade. Deployment is reliable and smooth thanks to the round thumb hole at the top of the blade.
